iL Soigneur Harris Tweed Cycling Musettes by Simon Bateson from United Kingdom on 05/23/2013![]() Perfect size to carry a newspaper or magazine and a few essentials - and the poppers let you close the top for extra security. With the strap let all the way out it's the right length to wear as a satchel, and the Harris tweed looks great. It's lined with cordura (I think) so whatever you put in there won't wear it out. Great price too - I love it!!
Northwave Fighter SBS Shoe 2013 by JOE SWINDELLS from United Kingdom on 05/23/2013![]() Fantastic looking shoe with some great features often reserved for higher priced road shoes.
Size: I'm a UK 9 and went for a 43. It fits snugly now and will probably loosen a touch as it wears in. Just what you want and won't cause a problem because of the amount of adjustment you get from the Velcro and SBS Ratchet. Very comfortable and firm.
Parts: Made from good quality components. Looks and feels expensive. Ratchet works well and provides lots of adjustment. Heel cup is a nice touch and the cleat attachment points are well made.
Use: A good road shoe for rides where you know you won't be stopping. The rigidity of the sole and lack of heel studs make these tricky to walk in. However, that very same combination makes them great on the bike. Nice mesh panels up top let your feet breathe but not to the extent that they become cold. They fit well but are maybe a narrow shoe, which cuts down on toe-wiggling space. With a decent waterproof over shoe and a merino wool sock these would make an okay winter shoe because there are no silly vents in the sole... So no puddle splashes to avoid.
All in all a really nice shoe. They're not the cheapest out there for this level of shoe but you do get some nice features. You could save yourself a few quid by going for the Fighter without the SBS Ratchet as they are identical apart from that. But for me the extra money was worth it. Look great in blue... Not sure about the white version.
Quoc Pham New Fixed Shoe by Guy Sheard from United Kingdom on 05/22/2013![]() These shoes are nice, a good solid sole to transfer the load across the foot from the toe. The leather is very thin, so may not last an enormously long time. It is however light. So great for everyday riding and racing in toe clip pedals. The only criticism I have of the shoes is that the leather at the toe end is thin therefore will wear out quite quickly against the toe clips. £120 reasonably expensive as you'll need a new pair every 18 months I would think (under daily use). But they're nice shoes. Made in China.
Radioshack Leopard Trek Gloves 2013 by Ian Mitchell from United Kingdom on 05/20/2013![]() Really pleased with these gloves, great looking and really comfy and secure on the bike. However, some of the 'wonder web' type material used to secure the folded edges has, a,most immediately come adrift. Hence the 4 stars. Doesn't seem to affect their function and I'm still happy to have bought them.
Bern Brentwood Bomber Graphics Helmet by smashing from United Kingdom on 05/19/2013![]() I really love this helmet. It fits well, feels like a good strong design, covers the back of my head properly and seems like it will protect you in a collision.
My head measures about 61/62cm and the XL fits well. Perhaps could be a tiny, tiny bit bigger - but you can adjust the headband a little and that helps.
One thing to note, the visor on this does NOT flip up. I think some newer models from Bern do, but this one does not. You can always remove the liner and wear an old school cycling hat inside it and that will flip up nicely.
DZR Jetlag Pigeon Shoe by dario della morte from Italy on 05/19/2013![]() Recently j bought a DZR DICE SHOE (perfect for a bike). J think that the DZR Jetlag Pigeon Shoe, and so all the shoes without the shoelaces, are not comfortable:
the straps is not enough to tihten the shoe to the foot, the shoe is too large and hurts the heel. The same review is for the DZR Concubine shoe.
Vulpine Merino V-Neck T-Shirt by Alessandro from Italy on 05/19/2013![]() This is a very nice jersey to enjoy urban riding, especially in the late afternoon when temperature drops a bit, and wool will protect you from freezing after some sweat. The rear pocket is useful but a zip would have been better than the single button. Following the sizing table I ordered a medium but it was way too long (I'm 173 cm), so I returned it and the small is just perfect. I recommend it.
Vulpine Cotton Visibility Gilet by Alessandro from Italy on 05/19/2013![]() This gilet is made of cotton and has a good visibility. I have found it useful as a protection in windy/chill days. Pockets are placed right, and the rear red tail gives an extra protection/visibility. Recommended for your urban rides and commuting. I'm 173 and found the small size just right, so I'd suggest to go one size smaller than the one indicated by the sizing table.
Castelli Free Aero Race Bib Short by Joe from United Kingdom on 05/17/2013![]() Only had these shorts a few days but they are the best shorts I have owned. First the size - usually gone for a M Castelli as a 32, but went for a small this time and just right. Nicely fitted feel bit like a training compression short. When on the road a perfect fit with all round contact and support. Chamois also really effective to the point you don't notice it. Highly recommend these ones not to mention Always Ridings usual great service
