Craft Performance Rain Pants

$92.19
Influenced by their medal winning cross country ski apparel, the Craft Performance Rain Pant is a wet weather cycling essential, and is firmly aimed at the all season commuter, tourer or weekend rider. Fully wind and waterproof, the fabric is more soft than hard, which reveals itself on the bike as being more comfortable, quieter and breathable than a typical hard shell. A more durable fabric is used in the seat area, a place which typically sees the most wear. Reflective piping and logos adorn the exterior, and for lower leg fit, Craft have used 2 velcro fasteners per leg, and a YKK zip to the knee for ease of removal and customised on the bike fit. A nice touch are the silicon ribbed grippers at the bottom of each leg, which helps prevent the pant from riding up. The waist area is key for comfort, and here Craft have used 2 removable suspenders, and a toggle drawstring fastener rather than a button closure system.

Tends to be small

Absolutely wonderful kit for those nasty weather late season commutes. With proper baselayers the Performance Rain Pants are suitable for freezing conditions as well. They have kept me relatively warm in conditions as cold as minus 12 C.
The sizing is a bit problematic. These pants are really form-fitting and are not far from feeling like bib tights. While my legs are not super-thick I had to go up one size in order to get the freedom of movement necessary for cycling. Even then these pants are quite form-fitting and not far from feeling like bib tights.
Considering how inexpensive these are, I'd consider the Performance Rain Pants an essential addition to any serious rider's wardrobe.
True to size

Great pants for commuting especially, for proper road riding it's better to invest in a pair of biblongs that are built for the weather. The performance line fits me much better than active. For the price I can't think of a better pair of pants.

These pants are really good. Have been out in high winds and rain with only long johns underneath and felt warm and dry. Reinforced seat is a nice touch and the rubber bottoms stop them riding up. Took a while to choose the right rain pants and glad i went for these ones. I can recommend them to anyone who wants protection from the rain/wind.

These pants are great. They have kept me dry all summer in moderate rain. I have yet to try them out in a heavy downpour. The reinforced seat is nice and will hopefully keep these from wearing. The fit is nice and snug, and they are a good length as well. Highly recommended.

Great pants, fully windproof and warm in cold conditions. Haven't tested it in the rain yet. Quick delivery!

Perfect pants. Its snowing and cold but the pants are both warm and keeps the rain and snow out. Nice fit not to slim.

These are great. I ordered the small and the fit is perfect 31w/32l, so I found the braces to be unnecessary. They are lined so you keep relatively dry even in heavy rain, and the fabric dries quickly. The cut is slim so there's almost no drag when cycling. The seat area is reinforced and there's some hi-viz but the best bit is the velcro adjusters and zip.
You can tighten the lower leg so there's no danger of getting the trousers caught in the chain, but there's also a zip so you don't waste time/effort constantly redoing the velcro. Just undo the vertical zip on the lower leg and step out. Overall a great example of efficient, practical design. My new favourite bit of commuter gear.

These are, quite frankly, an amazing piece of kit! Not only do they keep you dry, they are exceptionally warm. Wore them for the first time the other morning when it was 5 degrees and wet and my legs were roasting. These will be a real god-send when the temperature really plummets! These sound great - but can these be worn over clothes comfortably - or do you have to change once at your destination?
Thanks

Thanks for the question - yes, they are designed to work as over trousers or to be worn on their own, so really, they can just be removed on arrival and folded into a corner, or shaken off to remove any water droplets.
