Craft Zero Extreme WS Long Sleeve Base Layer$72.61
The Craft Zero Extreme Wind Stopper Long Sleeve Base Layer is perhaps the ultimate base layer for cold weather cycling, with the frontal shoulder and chest Gore Windstopper fabric working hard to ensure that your core temperature is always properly regulated. Made of a thin, lightweight and extremely elastic fabric that is channel stitched with two high-tech polyester fibres, the Zero Extreme utilises hexa-channeled fibers to enhance moisture transport, which cools the body down. On the outside, a hollow fibre offers isolation as well as transport of moisture to the next layer, whilst CoolMax Extreme Fresh FX fabric keeps smell and odour away.

The fit is ok, and the wind proof body section is a good idea, however I have had this base layer for a while now and the arms are starting to get rather loose and baggy. I only where this base layer for commuting into work as it certainly isn't a performance base layer.

This is a fantastic baselayer for the colder months. On the windy days we have had over this winter I have worn this all the time. the wicking properties of this baselayer are excellent as you never feel clammy. The fit as normal for Craft, the only slight downer is that the wind proof section feels a bit strange.

They do produce slick kit at Craft don't they? This base layer turned most of my summer jerseys into Spring and Autumn wear. Worth it for that alone never mind keeping your core temp up. Not cheap but what price a toasty tummy!

This is the best product you can buy to ride in winter. Feel you dry and warm with this light and confortable base layer.
by Paul Stratford from United Kingdom on 30/11/2011
Buy one
Possibly buy two.
It keeps you warm but not sweaty. The windproof layer makes it, well, windproof.
Useful for almost any cooler ride: 10 deg C with a summer jersey over the top, arm warmers if the wind chill is kicking in. Just layer up as you get colder.
As mentioned elsewhere, the fit can make you look more "buff" than you are - a pleasant bonus.

Can't rate this high enough - excellent fit (sizing was pretty much spot on), warm and the windstopper fabric on the front does a great job. Definitely recommend this baselayer!

I selected a medium - I am 5'10" with a 38" chest and it fitted like a glove. First ride was at 3 degrees and it coped well with the cold conditions and chill factor, though I opted to wear a mid layer and soft shell as well to ensure that I didn't get cold. Was quite sweaty post ride but did not feel cold and clammy next to the skin. Well worth the money. Thank you Santa ;-)

Best base layer ever... Very comfortable, warm and light to wear.
This one will keep you and you only need to add a good jacket and you can go for a cold ride without adding to much weight.

The best baselayer I've ever had. Sincere and tight sizing, excellent construction. Warm on the skin, I've used it together with the CRAFT long sleeve jersey for a 10-15C° 55 km fast ride with rolling hills and a 3 km slope with steepness 8%. Thanks to the front and shoulder windstopper protection I could open the jersey during the slope without feeling the bad sensation of cool air against my chest. Also riding plans at high intensity I've never felt sweaty and came back home with my skin dry and warm. I'm just waiting to test this baselayer with lower temperatures, together with my winter jacket.

An excellent garment. The warmth to weight ratio is amazing. Worn as a single layer it still keeps the Scottish chilly autumn breeze from getting to your bones on the long evening rides. I even bought another for long week-ends away.. Stevi, Glasgow.

THE essential item to own for winter cycling. Offers fantastic wind protection and is made in the usual high Craft quality. Can be washed again and again. If you don't own one- this is the essential kit to buy

EXCELLENT TOP. FITTED PERFECTLY AND VERY COMFORTABLE. KEEPS WIND OUT ENTREMELY WELL ALLOWING FOR LESS GEAR TO BE WORN IN GENERAL.
by SAWBO from United Kingdom on 11/01/2010
FANTASTIC GARMENT. FITS LIKE A GLOVE, WICKS WELL, KEEPS THE WIND OUT AND KEEPS YOUR WARM AND TOASTY. BEST WINTER BASE I'VE HAD. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR.

Another great product from Craft. Very tight fit which some may not like, but once it's on it's extremely comfortable. I'm 6ft tall with a 38" chest and a medium fits perfectly. The windstopper material works very well at keeping the icey winter wind out, apart from that it's just like the standard pro-zero extreme base layer which is great.

Bought this layer for my son-in-law's birthday. He cycles a LOT and he says it's the best he's ever had! He stays dry and warm and the wind doesn't affect him at all. I couldn't get it in Holland and was very happy I could order it in your webshop. Got it in time for his birthday (2 days!). Thank you very much. Do Craft base Layers typically have good arm length? I\'ve used other brands before and I always get an exposed wrist.

Thanks for the question - Yes, all long sleeve Craft Base Layers typically have generous arm lengths. This is a Craft standard, with riders over 6 foot really appreciating the extra length.
How close fitting should Craft base layers be?
posted by Matt on 30th December 2011
Thanks for your question! As a rule, Craft Base Layers should always be a close fit in order for the base layer to actually function as it should. When we say a close fit, we mean not loose, not flappy, but also not so fitted as to make you feel uncomfortable. Luckily Craft do make their base layers in an extremely ergonomic shape, so all you need to do is to choose your size from the chart and the fit should take care of itself. If in doubt between two sizes from the size chart, my advice would be too always go down a size for a perfect fit.
