When you have your helmet on, the last thing you need is a bulky hat underneath, (remember the Coneheads?) and therein lies the Zero Hat's strength, it really is lightweight. Protection against the elements, yet soft, thin and comfortable.

25 reviews for Craft Zero Windstopper Hat
Tends to be small
by John from Australia on 30/01/2012
Being a size 56 head (M) I went by the Craft sizing and got the S-M instead of the L-XL. I highly recommend that if your in the upper end of medium, to go up the next size and get the L-XL . The hat is made with great quality and will fit well under your helmet as it is thin enough not to create any issues when doing so.
As yet, I have not used it in cold weather, so I can not speak about this - but I thought an early review to let people know about the sizing would be of interest. Once again, the delivery was super quick to Australia and I cannot fault Alwaysriding for their return policy - faultless..
True to size
by Alexander Vastaev from Russian Federation on 21/01/2012
absolutely unexpected:
- absolutely another veiw, seams are red!
- very very thin! There it looks more warmer....
by Ronald Richman from United States on 29/12/2011
The thin zero extreme fabric does not effect the helmet fit and the feel of the fabric is not "plasticky" like some other laminated head coverings. I found it worked fine for a night ride until the temp dropped below 40 F (5 C). Then my ears, which are sensitive, became quite cold.
by CARLES ZAMORA PEREZ from Spain on 14/11/2011
Very good product. Ideal for cold weather days. However, for cooler days and wind, others prefer to have 100% windstopper fabric. For all other days, this craft is perfect.
by RICHARD HOWARD from United Kingdom on 18/10/2011
I bought a size L and its a perfect fit, snug and warm . Fold up perferctly into cycling jersey pockets or the back of running tights... It s the sort of beanie that will look good with jeans and a hoodie too 10/10 for value and excellent service as always
by Athanasios Papathanasiou from Greece on 19/08/2011
Completely different than that on photo !!! is slim, light and looks great. I am not sure if it is perfect for extream cold days but many other reviewers certifies that. You can easy fold it and put it even in a Jean pocket !! so slim !
keep in mind that Craft products is usualy smaller than that you expect
by pllb from United Kingdom on 06/04/2011
What a great hat! Fit's my large head like a glove (well more like a hat actually but you get the idea ;) It is thin but blocks the wind, perfect for spring/autumn riding & will fit under a cap. This was given to me as a birthday present and it is one of the best presents I received! Apparently the package arrived before the e-mail saying that it had been despatched - cant say better than that!
by Lovisa Backmark from Sweden on 25/11/2010
a bit small in size.
by chopoo from France on 15/11/2010
great hat, great quality, fits under a helmet easily, does what it says on the box, straight out of the box. i feel i can buy anything with confidence on this site, shipping is quicker than most other sites i have dealt with.
by Matthew Soley from United Kingdom on 30/10/2010
The ultimate hat! The photo makes this hat appear far bulkier than it actually is. If, like me you don't like your head overheating then this is for you. Very thin and stops the wind without letting your head overheat but still keeping it cosy - ideal for running/trekking or sitting under climbing/skiing/snowboarding helmets you won't even feel like you are wearing it. I wear a Giro Atmos M helmet and bought L/XL - I actually look forward to using this in the winter!
by Kjell Pettersson from Sweden on 27/10/2010
I bought this hat for use in cold swedish weather, below zero degrees. It´s comfortable and easy to wear under the helmet. It has some kind of windstopper material in front and that´s good, but it´s to thin on the side so my ears are freezing when it get´s really cold. It´s nice to wear when it´s not so cold though.
by SAWBO from United Kingdom on 18/10/2010
FANTASTIC WARM, CLOSE FITTING HAT. PERFECT FOR THE CHILLY AUTUMN RIDES.
by RICHARD MORTON from United Kingdom on 13/10/2010
GREAT HAT FOR RUNNING OR AS AN UNDER HELMET SKULL CAP. NICE NEAT FIT.
by Paul McKeating from United Kingdom on 03/10/2010
Lovely warm hat despite its minimalist design. Windstopper is a great idea and, although it does feel 'syntheticy' when you try it on, you forget you're wearing it when you're exercising.
by DAVID BUKOVEC from Slovenia on 21/09/2010
Craft Zero Windstopper Hat is a little too small. I have a very small head, but the Item does not cover my Ears 100%. But this is not so big deal.
by Rob Tiley from United Kingdom on 29/01/2010
Great hat, good value and well designed. I like the lightweight material and simple design. Would echo other reviewer who suggests that you go for L/XL if you want to make sure your ears are covered.
by kyllonem from Finland on 26/01/2010
Very Nice hat also for Running/Jogging on a chill/Windy Autumn evening. This stops the windfrom front side that my Nike hat did not. Very Nice feeling and looking also!
by Fox from Ireland on 20/01/2010
Hat does exactly what is says "windstopper". It is lightweight and ideal for under a helmet. One siae will fit all.
by Peter Lloyd from United Kingdom on 17/01/2010
This hat is a lot thinner than it looks in the photo, so that was a surprise. But it is almost weightless and great for keeping off the chill without getting too hot.
by @markthemamil from United Kingdom on 27/12/2009
Perfect hat for winter riding. It's dead tight so won't effect your helmet, keeps you warm but not overheating. The windstopper front panel stops your forehead freezing, not only that it's a bargain too!
by Kenny Carter from United Kingdom on 16/11/2009
This hat is a little cracker! I had tried a neoprene skull cap under my lid but it just wasn't that comfortable. The Craft hat is much more like it. It holds itself in place nicely without being too tight, has great breathability and the Windstopper panel on the front keeps those cold winds from biting at your head. If you're looking to cover your ears fully you might find the L/XL is required. With Always Riding's no-nonsense returns process you can't go wrong. Buy one!
by ilia from Bulgaria on 15/11/2009
Great hat! I rode 50 km yesterday into cold headwind, my head was well protected and comfortable.
by Tam from United Kingdom on 14/11/2009
Excellent product - does just what it says - stops the wind. This is this second one I have purchased as my cycling partner 'borrowed' the first one and didn't want to give it back . Warm and comfortable and ideal under helmet. Always riding are an excellent supplier, fast delivery and communication. I have had to exchange a couple of items for a different size and once again a seamless process.
by Nick from United Kingdom on 13/09/2009
Starting with price, this hat can not be better on value, the plain design will suit anyone and everyone, it's so light it really hugs your head with comfort and has not once made my head feel hot, perfect for our english weather.
by flying finn from United Kingdom on 10/01/2009
This is by far the best winter / spring hat I have ever had . I used it today at - 9 superb . Not to hot just perfect. I shall buy another soon ,just in case they stop making them. Hi, yes it certainly is! The Zero Hat is very thin and fits perfectly under a helmet. Considering how lightweight it is, you stay very warm on cold days, but never overheat.
