A perfect match between technology and design, the DMT Prisma Speedplay Shoe is DMT's new top road model, enhanced with a Speedplay cycling pedal specific sole.
Featuring an upper in an extremely light microfiber combined with a mesh that allows for high breathability, the DMT Prisma Speedplay is aimed at the season's warm rides, where keeping your feet fresh (yes, even on the most difficult Sportive) is essential. For the closing system, the Prisma sports DMT's ATOP system, which simply twists to evenly tighten, or, with one slight counter movement, releases tension. This is a great design feature in that it does not fully release the shoe tension in one go, allowing very easy mid ride micro adjustments. For the sole, the DMT Prisma Speedplay comes with the Italian brand's latest Toray MR60 High Modulus Carbon Fiber innovation. With 9 layers in total, the fibers are orientated at 0, 45 and 90 degrees, with each degree providing different features: 0 for maximum stiffness and responsiveness. 45 for incredible torsional rigidity allowing an ultra responsive and firm steering feel, and finally 90 for strength and durability for long life and consistent high performance. On the road, this translates to near perfect power transfer, and of course, incredibly light weight. Speedplay Specific Sole The big news for this model is that the sole is Speedplay pedal specific. By creating a specific sole for this popular pedal format, DMT manage to reduce the weight per cleat by 48g, and the stack height by a guge 8mm over a standard Speedplay integration. By moving your foot closer to the pedal axle, DMT claims that the Speedplay specific sole improves power transmission, along with a 33 second per hour aerodynamic assisted advantage in wind tunnel testing. Thermo-moulding Insoles Put the Prisma's insole in the oven at 83 degrees celsius for a few minutes, place them back in your shoes and then wear them until they cool, and the insole will mould to your foot shape; further helping to attain a perfect, individual fit.
Size feedback!
1 rider says this is true to size
![]() From their use of High Modulus Toray carbon fibre in their flagship models, clever design touches that make getting the perfect fit attainable to every rider, and a made in Europe tag, it's pretty clear that amongst cycling shoes, DMT Shoes are something quite special. Add to this heady mix that fact that each DMT Shoe benefits from feedback generated by their sponsored team and rider base; a group of pro cyclists that count the ever punchy Belgian Philippe Gilbert amongst their ranks, and you have the perfect recipe for a killer cycling shoe. 1 reviews for DMT Prisma 2.0 Road Shoe - Speedplay

Perfect for Speedplay - worked for me!
Size comment: "True to size"
I'd just bought Speedplay pedals and happened to need new shoes as well. There aren't many Speedplay-soled shoes available so not a lot of choice.
I googled and found these, and I'm really glad I went for them. You just fix the Speedplay shims and cleats onto the sole, adjust them up, and go. (You do need the Speedplay shims, they don't come with the pedals but aren't too pricey.)
Straight out of the box I've found these shoes really comfortable, I have wide feet, size 81/2 in old money - I got size 45 and for me they're a perfect fit.
As you'd expect for the price, these are high-quality shoes, as well as being comfortable, light, and reassuringly stiff-soled, they look as if they'll last a long time so should be good value for money. The thermally-formed insoles are a nice touch as well.

Will other cleat types fit this shoe, or is it designed only for the Speedplay cleat?

Thanks for the question - only Speedplay for this model. However, please visit this search result to see the other DMT Prisma models we stock that feature a standard 3-point 'Look type' sole.

DMT Shoes sizingDMT Shoes are a typically racing fit, slim but not overly so. You can feel confident about going for your normal cycling shoe size (the listed sizes on the drop down menus are in EU sizes), but we feel that taking 1/2 step higher might be a good idea if you do have wider feet.
