The DZR Dice Shoe in black is one of a new line of DZR urban cycling, SPD compatible shoes that take the best parts of their original collection, and add a stiffer sole, high quality finishing (notable on the excellent sole / upper bonding) and of course, fresh new styles.

Hi, I am a Brompton bike rider and want to purchase a pair of "Dice Black" bike shoes. Before I do so, can you please recommend a set of easy on/off SPD pedals /cleats, that would work with the shoes? As this would be the first time biking with cleats, I am trying to avoid making a mistake. Best regards, Steffen.
Steffen, 16th June 2012
Thanks for the question! We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Shimano SPD style pedals, which are supplied with cleats that will fit the Dice. Easy to use, double sided and offering a good platform width, they would make a nice addition to your Brompton. However, you can also get single sided SPD pedals - one side a standard flat pedal, the other side an SPD connection, This system would allow you to have the best of both worlds - SPD and flat pedal in one, allowing you to wear any shoe in the future, and not be restricted to SPD compatible shoes only.

DZR Shoes sizing
DZR Shoes have traditionally run slightly large, but recently many riders have been reporting that they feel the shoes run true to size. The reality is probably somewhere in the middle, so expect a slightly larger size in general, but if in doubt, please take a moment to read some of the DZR product reviews to see what other riders have said about their shoes and experiences.

I spent ages looking for some great looking cycling shoes that matched my Zamboo road bike (made of bamboo), i was after something that combined performance with looks - and didn't look 'bling' (if you are reading this you know what i mean!) so i gave these a go and went for the tan, all leather brown one's...
The result was great, the only way i can put it is that they give me the same pleasure as snowboarding boots do compared to ski boots, i wore them on a ride for about 20m and even though they are good to walk in, the solid platform is perfectly aligned to the peddle so i was able to get some great power and speed, the ride was good, i felt great, so went to the pub, i forgot i was wearing cycling shoes as they were so comfortable, rode home and didn't even want to take them off - this is one purchase i don't regret at all

Perfect if you cycle and walk

Wasn't sure about size (I'm normally a UK10) so had the 44 and 45 delivered. The 44 was nice and snug and has bedded in well, the 45 way too big so sent them back. These do seem to come a little bigger than say Shimano shoes where I am normally a 45.
First ride was into the Cycle show at the NEC. I rode 15 miles each way on a Brompton and then walked round the show for 5 hours - at both tasks these shoes worked incredibly well. They are stiff enough to transmit power to the pedals, but somehow manage to be comfortable off the bike too! They also look great!
The only thing to be careful about is clipping in as the cleat is quite well recessed. For me it just needs a bit more downward pressure to make sure I'm secure.
All in all a fabulous purchase.

Beautiful peddeling shoes
Size comment: "True to size"
I use this shoes when I take the bike for shopping in the city . Sole is very stiff for peddeling and off the bike the walk very well.
Nice finish , looking good . Normally I choose one size up for my road shoes , but with this pair I didn't they are true to size just follow thesize chart and you will be fine.
