Spanish brand Etxeondo have been in the business of creating performance cycling wear since 1976, and are perhaps most well known for their sponsorship of Pro Tour Team Euskatel and clothing the shoulders of the mighty Miguel Indurain during his time at Banesto. To this day, the entire range, (apart from some accessories which are made in Italy), is still designed and produced in San Sebastian, where the company first started.
Etxeondo have a solid reputation for making only the highest quality apparel, designed for the most demanding cyclists, whether they ride road or mountain. Their commitment to research and development is one of the reasons they are regarded as rider staple for European cyclists, who can always count on not only a great fit, but race proven apparel that supports the rider from valley floor to mountain top descent.

I bought a size large to fit over my Sidi Dragon (size 45) mountain shoes, and they are a great snug fit.
The ankle fitting is also snug.
Only 4 out of 5, because as yet not tested them for longevity.

AlwaysRiding provided me with a pair for my recent Tour Divide mtb race from Banff, Canada, to the Mexican border which is 2,700 miles. Weight and pack size were very important to me as I carried everything I needed on my bike and this area they were excellent. Fitting was snug (over my mtb shoes) and perhaps the only minor issue I had was that the zip was small and a little fiddly. They worked well at keeping my feet warm and dry on the few wet days I encountered. They did tear a little but that was from walking in them for about 6 hours over a snowy pass in Montana and over Fleecer ridge. This is not what the shoes were designed for and I would not mark them down for this. They are certainly more expensive than I would normally buy but again you get what you pay for, These are particularly recommended for people touring who need to save space and weight.

Good at keeping your feet warm but for the price definitely not waterproof for anyone riding over 2 hrs, i'm a size 45 in sidi and had to change for smaller size to medium 43-44

Worthwhile Purchase So Far

Bought primarily for cycle touring to be worn over Lake MTB shoes. Chose 1 size up (43/44) for the wider and deeper size 42 (wide)MTB shoes. Excellent fit, but also good fit on my size 42 Vittoria road shoes. Ridden in steady rain for up to a couple of hours on a number of occasions on my mountain bike (no mudguards) and my touring bike (mudguards). So far, no signs of water ingress and feet stay nice and warm. These are well made and look as if they will last a long time if looked after. Time will tell.......
