If the Etxeondo Thermolite Socks had a political platform, they would get elected off the back of a 'Warm, warm and warm!' campaign to rapturous applause. The predictable scandal involving a rather large orange in a very wrong place would of course come later, but, devastating public affair not withstanding, they would meet their political promises.
Etxeondo have a great reputation for making only the highest quality cycle clothing, designed for the most demanding cyclists, whether they ride the roads or mountain trails. Worn by both Sean Kelly and Miguel Indurain during their respective careers, and made just outside San Sebastian in the heart of the Basque Country, Etxeondo clothing is designed for everyone who strives to be a Giant of the Road.

For me, not worth the money
It's been a while since I bought these socks in readiness for the colder weather. The quality is the usual Exteondo standard, really well made and feels lovely to the touch, however on my ride out on Sunday 10th November the temperature early morning was at zero degrees and after 1 hours riding my toes started to get cold and after 2 hours went numb. I was wearing my usual thick neoprene overshoes which usually help to keep my feet warmer for longer and so was really disappointed with these socks considering the price. Now, I have poor circulation but other socks I have which we're cheaper have kept my feet warmer for longer and so I feel cheated by the misleading wording for the advertising of this product. If only there was a try before you buy scheme I would not have wasted my money. I was considering buying the Exteondo winter gloves but at the price that they are am not prepared to take such a big risk with my money. On saying all of this though I suppose most people would have warm feet with these socks on. If Always Riding are looking for a sock and glove tester then I am their man!!

Etxeondo apparel is sized for a fitted look, but not so much as the Italian brands. Therefore, follow the sizing chart with confidence, but if you do want a little extra room, then feel free to go up a size.
*For an accurate glove size, please measure around your palm, placing it flat and making sure to exclude the thumb (don't chop it off), then compare your measurement to the chart above. If it's a close call, go one size up or down depending on the result.
