Base Layers by Craft - Powering Spartacus to Paris Roubaix No. 3

Once, twice, thrice - Fabian 'Spartacus' Cancellara, like his gladiatorial name-sake of old, is a master tactician and fierce competitor; qualities that on Sunday powered the popular Radioshack rider to a 3rd Paris-Roubaix title. Whilst Fabian's talent is his own, the Swiss native had a little help along the way from his preferred apparel partner and team sponsor Craft of Sweden's collection of base layers.

Taking a few precious moments of rest immediately after the race, Cancellara reflected: "I was in another world of riding! I still don’t know how I did it. I was dropped and pretty far back but then I started to move up. This is a race you can never give up on until the end. I had to play with him in the end because I tried to go away but he followed so then I knew it was man against man. I’m happy for the team and for me. Now I look forward to rest and a holiday. Mission accomplished".

Riding to victory with a Craft Superlight Base Layer under his Leopard Trek Jersey - a combination designed to balance core body temperature whilst removing moisture for maximum prolonged freshness (a quality in great demand needed during the 254km 'Hell of the North'), Fabian changed post-race into a Craft Active Extreme Base Layer, all the better to stay warm after the efforts of the day.

About the Rider: Peter
Co-founder of Always Riding, Pete enjoys road, trail and a good city commute. Most of all though, he loves chatting to other riders, the mid-ride stop after a leg-breaking ascent, and a cup of tea at the end of the ride. There is no truth in the rumour that he likes to wear women's clothes and hang around in bars. No truth at all.
