We're big devotees of Blaze's ground-projecting, traffic warning, see me a'comin bike light, but with the release of the London brand's Laserlight in an all-new black colourway, we find ourselves in a serious colour conflict. Luckily, with the early evenings set to last a good while longer, we have plenty of time to decide which one we prefer!

It's hard not to admire Blaze and company founder Emily Brooke. Whether nailing Kickstarter, winning awards, building a lust-worthy adaptive rear light (coming soon), or having their front light-tech melded onto London's Boris Bike hire scheme, these proactive go-getters are inspirational examples of great product, promotion and PR; a holy trinity any success-seeking new brand would do well to emulate today's competitive world.

About the Rider: Peter
Co-founder of Always Riding, Pete enjoys road, trail and a good city commute. Most of all though, he loves chatting to other riders, the mid-ride stop after a leg-breaking ascent, and a cup of tea at the end of the ride. There is no truth in the rumour that he likes to wear women's clothes and hang around in bars. No truth at all.
