Cycling Socks are nearly always overlooked, abused and usually discarded post ride with a disdainful flick of the wrist at the nearest stationary pile of clothing. However, socks can make or break a ride, taking you to the heights of comfort, or the depths of despair.

A ride in comfort, guaranteed
Cyclists are prone to hot spots on their feet in warmer climes, and this rider has seen many fellow sportive cyclists clutching at their beloved feet in agony by the side of the road. Ok, so some of this is down to an incorrect choice of footwear, but take care of your feet and they'll take care of you!
For warmer rides, a good pair of mid to low cut socks that fit snugly without wrinkles around the sole are a must. Man made or merino, it really doesn't matter so much, but a lot of riders go for merino because its ant-bacterial nature helps to resist odours. Fit is key though, so make sure they are neither too tight nor too loose. For colder rides, a mid weight sock is ideal with a slightly higher cuff length. |
