If you like your base layer not too heavy but not too light, choose the Indie, Ibex's year round baselayer made without peers for softness and durability. Semi fit for everyday performance and style, the Indie features 18.5 micron New Zealand Merino 195 g/m2 and a relaxed jersey knit.

We see the Indie as the ideal top for either a light commute in cool conditions, post bike relaxing, or multi sport activities - like cow tipping, welly wanging and running.

The Indie is made from Ibex's new 18.5 micron New Zealand Merino at 195g/m2. Ibex designed this fabric from the need for a weight in-between 150g/m2 and 230g/m2. The weight of the fabric resembles that of a high quality t-shirt. It works well worn next to skin baselayer, on its own, or over a t-shirt as a light weight outer.

A bit expensive, but extremely comfortable. Very light and packs small. I haven't ridden in it, but generally put it on during breaks to stay warm. The recommended size came up quite snug, as it's supposed to. If you like your clothes looser, then buy a size up. I machine wash and tumble dry this and have had no problems with shrinking.

good fit went a size up so a little baggy as purchased for off the bike. very pleased will be buying some more for christmas

Unbelievably comfy!!! Worn for a ride, just walking around, or at home, it's my favourite relaxing top - bike or no bike. The fabric is so fine, it's as good, if not better than my Howies tops.

Fantastic do it all top, I've used it as a mid layer and it keeps me warm, but not too warm. I like the thumb loops and long sleeves which are good when running or riding in cold weather. When zipped up it keeps most of your neck warm. I would recommend it or even buy another for myself.

Is the Ibex Hooded Indie Merino Base layer for men or women. Your sizing information gives both but the drop down list of sizes and colours, and the product description don't mention whether the sizes are mens or womens. Thanks

Thanks for the question - This Ibex Hooded Base Layer is primarily designed for men, but really, there is nothing in the design that would not translate well to a female form. If you would like to try one, just follow the men's sizing chart, and you should be fine. Any problems, then you can of course return the top for a full refund using the included return's form and address label included in every package.

Ibex sizing

Ibex apparel runs pretty true to size, with the only exception being their knee and arm warmers, which we would recommend going down a size for a good fit.
