swrve's 3/4 cotton shorts are not only incredibly well designed and hard wearing, but will ensure that you look just as stylish off the bike as on. Made from 97% cotton and 3% lycra, they include some really nice bike specific features that aid both comfort and function.
![]() swrve is a small company producing big products, based in Los Angeles where its founders Muriel and Matt live, work and cycle. swrve came into existence after Muriel and Matt's long search for affordable, stylish, yet functional cycling shorts yielded no results. It's little surprise that their shorts design, which has been honed by experience on and off bicycles, has become the cornerstone of the swrve line. Designed for men and women, they have been cut to perform perfectly when riding and stylishly when not. Features include a seamless gussetted crotch for comfort, articulated knees for better fit on a bike or barstool, low waist in front, high waist at the back, two 6” zippered back pockets, a mobile phone pocket on the side to stay connected, and a stylish trim fit for everyday use. The shorts are cut from a variety of materials for year-round use and activities. The schoeller fabrics, with their realworld resistance to water and ability to deal with perspiration, are great for all sorts of activities: from mountainbiking, downhill stuff and, with their 4-way stretch and close fit, are even pretty handy when rockclimbing. But first and foremost these shorts are practical in any fabric. They have strong, deep pockets that will keep secure the essential stuff most cycling gear fails to give a second thought to: wallet, loose change, keys, phone, gum and anything else that may regularly find its way onto your person. ![]() With a tight, flat-fronted fit, these three-quarters are nevertheless cut and featured for comfort ‘on the bike or bar stool’. Articulated knees, seamless gussetted crotch, a medium-weight 97 percent cotton, three percent Lycra mix fabric, deep zippered pockets on the bum – who wants to ride with anything in their front pockets? There’s even a handy, vertical mobile pocket on the back right-hand-side, which everyone who’s experienced trying to dig out a ringing phone that’s lying unflatteringly, uncomfortably and irretrievably at the bottom of a pocket will appreciate.
There is also a Women’s cotton short available with the same fabric, features and price – just a more lady-specific cut. If you have bought this product, why not write a review and help other riders to make an informed choice. Just click here.

natural and durable (looking at least) material
good cut to avoid bagginess.
tend to be one size small though.

I bought these as I was looking for a pair of shorts that were comfortable enough for long rides but also appropriate for when walking around off it/going for a drink afterwards. Although the slim cut will probably still mark you out as a cyclist, they are well designed and look very good. They are also incredibly comfortable - the snug fit is very cosy!
They move well when riding, and have enough stretch to accommodate your peddling action...
My only gripe is that the material (and I bought black) seems to attract small particles of dust etc, which are quite hard to rub off as the material on the outer is relatively thick. Bigger mud patches come off easily. A minor gripe though - I am really happy with these and would certainly recommend them.
If you are worrying about size then go one up - the sizing is very accurate! So err on the larger size if you are often between sizes, as they are cut quite slim.

These are well made good quality shorts. They feel like they are up to some abuse, and the addition of deep zipped pockets makes them functional as well. I've purchased these for riding and wearing at work. They are a slim cut, so buy the next size up if your bothered about that. They are cut well around the knee, I find them very comfortable both on and off the bike. Being black, they should disguise any oily marks, and I've noticed that mud splats etc brush off if you leave them to dry. A good effort!

Arrived next day. Smart and comfy on and off the bike. Perfect if you don't want the lycra image in a cafe or pub. They are slim fitting and don't flap about in the wind. Good build quality with attention to detail & good quality zips. I like the mobile phone pocket Got an in depth product question, or want to ask something else related to this product?
