The Walz Wool Racing Wool Cap is made from 100% wool with a contrast centre stripe. The soft bill liner is flexible and can be worn either up or down, whilst the streamlined three panel design is both sleek and comfortable.
![]() Handmade in San Diego, USA, Walzs' traditional style cycling caps are made from durable, comfortable, medium-weight fabrics and are both stylish and functional. Their unique four panel design offers clean lines for a snug cap that fits nicely under a cycling helmet. ![]() Cotton cycling caps serve a dual purpose: protect the scalp from the heat and rain, and help the rider look good off the bike. California cap makers Walz Caps succeed in both categories, and have taken it one step further with the use of different materials and cuts for a refined and hip look. According to owner Michael Gilstrap, Walz Caps is a small family company with the singular focus of making quality cycling caps in the United States. "Concentrating on producing the best cycling caps allows us to create a superior product that is popular around the world," he told BikeRadar. Walz Caps models range from the traditional four-panel to racing stripe and earflap cycling caps. Sizes are small/medium (6-1/4 to 7-1/8 hat size) and large/XL (7-1/4 to 7-5/8). Our two samples fit generously and continue to hold their shape after several months of wear and washing. This was a welcome change from the dozens of European-made caps we've worn over the years, which routinely come in one size only, are too snug for most and fade after the first washing. Nicely made hat. Little snug for my big head, but not too bad. Fits better than my Rapha hat i have. Haven't worn on the bike yet....looks like it is more for casual riding than summer sweatfests.

This cap is really lovely. It's well made, using good quality materials with careful attention to detail (I love the deep red coloured band inside!) Really comfortable to wear and nicely understated too. Impressed with the speedy delivery too, thanks. I highly recommend the product and the company.

Classy looking wool cap, generous fit (pleasant change).
Arrived from Always Riding amazingly quick.

I ordered L / XL since my head is 59 cm. I thought the cap was slightly too big so I took the chance, contrary to testimonials, and washed it in hot water and then let it dry on my bald head. Now that woolcap suits me perfectly. Really glad I bought it cause I think I look great in it and it will be nice wearing it both on and off the bike.

I got this cap primarily to wear under my helmet, and hopefully avoid that lovely 'dragged through a hedge' restyling post ride! I initially chose a S/M but vastly underestimated the size of my bonce! I sent it back and was quickly sent a L/XL size in return. It's lovely and warm, looks well smart off the bike and looks made to last. Recommended.

Keeps my bald head warm and the peak does not catch the wind either. I think I also look rather stylish in it as well.

I bought the XL given that I've got an enormous dome of a head. However, even on me this came up a wee bit big. The other minor issue with it is that the peak is just a wee bit too wobbly for my tastes, meaning that under the helmet it has the unfortunate habit of curling and creasing (think Elvis Presley lip curl and you have the image). Other than these issues, it is a really well made cap. I'd say definitely more suited to mild as opposed to cold conditions. "I ordered some back-issues of Rouleur. Arrived nicely wrapped and far quicker than I had expected for 'standard' delivery - paid late Sunday pm, turned up Tuesday am. The order update emails are a nice touch too - always good to know where and when things are going to be..." read more >
