Walz's redesign of their hugely popular ear flap model includes elastic in the back flap to help keep the flap down and your ears warm. The ear flap cycling caps are handmade from quality, durable 100% wool, whilst the soft bill liner is comfortable and flexible and can be worn either up or down.

Walz Caps now offers two sizes. The original "one size fits most" size is now the small/medium. The new size is a large/extra large for those who prefer a roomier fit.

    Walz Wool Ear Flap Cap.
This is a Fab Cap for winter.
Well made and warm, but breathes well when riding.
If you where to buy just one cap for winter,
    it should be this one.
    A proper riders winter Cap.

I bought this cap because I wanted some winter headwear that would provide adjustable warmth and keep the rain off my glasses. The foldable earflaps and peak make a reasonable job of doing this. The downside is that the hat can become persistently damp and somewhat itchy if it comes into contact with moisture, such as sweat or rain. The Belgian styling of the hat is certainly sartorially interesting and I have found this hat more suitable for off the bike wearing.

I like a good cap and I've got loads of them to prove it. This cap is one of my preferred ones. The peak is just right (strangely its just that bit firmer and shorter than the Racing Stripe cap which I also own) and it covers your ears in a very snug way. The only issue is that it slightly gives you the appearance of Ena Sharples from Coronation Street when she wore her hairnet as the elasticated back of the cap bunches up just a tad too much to be called stylish. However, with a little gratuitous tugging and pulling I've managed to stretch the elastic just a little so that I'm now less "Ena" and more "vaguely stylish"-or so I tell myself! All in all a good cap and suitable for cold conditions when you need your ears kept warm.

A really nice fitting and warm winter cap. I'm a strong believer in buying products made by quality and innovative led companies, not ones necessarily made in China as is mostly the case these days. Therefore, I was gratified to see these were made in the USA and the description matches the performance. The only slight gripe is that the dye tends to leave a mark on my head - but I suppose this is good because of the materials used. looking forward to buying more Walz caps!!

When new this was a bit loose (small/medium) and the elasticated ear covers felt a bit flappy. It was very comfortable but did become itchy in a downpour. The peak couldn't be flipped up when worn under a helmet and I had to pull the cap as far back as I could to see from below the peak. I'd hoped a wash would tighten it up a bit after reading a review on another site. Unfortunately, washing it after using it once has utterly ruined it despite following the directions. Perhaps my hands can tolerate water that is too hot for wool. It is only useful for a doll now!
