The original Revelation Jacket caused quite a stir when it first came onto the market. It was the first time GORE-TEX Pro® fabric had been used on a cycling jacket, and as soon as it was launched the jacket started getting the kind of reviews competitors could only dream of.
However, never wanting to sit on their laurels, the good folks at 7mesh soon began work on tweaking the design of the Revelation and this updated version is the result of their efforts. Key changes include a refined fit (with a lengthening of the jacket and more space at the hips to prevent riding up), improvements to the under helmet hood (including a small brim to enhance protection without compromising vision), and more reflective detailing on the tail and cuffs.
The Revelation is for riders who will be out whatever the weather, whether that’s touring, trail riding, or commuting. The jacket combines absolute weather protection with the kind of features and finishing details that you get when a group of riders who make technical outdoor apparel for a living get together and begin to consider what could be done for cycling gear.
The Revelation is designed to pass the Gore “Guaranteed to Keep You Dry” standard which guarantees that the jacket’s waterproofness will last the lifetime of the jacket. It is cut for a streamlined on the bike fit but with enough give to layer up when necessary and to be worn comfortably off the bike. It is packed with features to enhance comfort and fit, including vented sides and forearms (which can be opened or closed as appropriate), adjustable hem, cuffs and hood, soft brushed collar and chin guard. Its 8mm seam taping, helix patterning and minimal material usage and seams keeps bulk and weight down and enhances fit.
