Description

Cafe du Cycliste's Cote d'Azur style is obvious in the new Heidi Winter Jacket. Featured in the performance range the Heidi achieves a desirable balance between technical fabrics, comfort and style.

Made from Italian performance fabric the jacket combines polypropylene to keep you dry and a polyester micro fibre to wick away sweat. Eye catching windproof panels on the front and shoulders protect the rider from biting winter winds giving the advantages of both a winter jersey and a wind proof gilet.

A brushed interior makes this jacket work over just a single base layer for bright winter days but it's equally at home as a top layer over a jersey, arm warmers and thick base layer.

Excellence in design has been carried through to the finishing of the Heidi Winter Jacket. Zipped mesh vents help to regulate temperature whilst two cargo, and one zipped pocket provide enough storage space for food and essentials on longer rides.

This arrived a few weeks ago and is now my go-to jacket for commuting and weekend rides. Not the warmest jacket you could buy, but has served me well in ranges from -1C up to around 11C without trouble (usually with one medium or light base layer). Really does look good on and off the bike.

Gripes? Nothing of note - the name is a little odd though :) Cargo pockets are a little narrow at the top so don't expect to get anything bulky in there (e.g. a thicker rain jacket). Otherwise, very happy with this.

Apart from its great aesthetic appeal, this jacket has a lot to offer. Temperature's in New York currently range from mid 20s to low 40s which is what I feel to be the ideal range for this jacket. The jacket is well built, with many small details that stand out. The cuffs are longer than a lot of jackets I've seen and stay in place very well. The center panels of wind-proof material protect your midsection much better than I initially expected. The rear pockets are slim, do not expect to carry a spare bidon or especially large tools, though it will easy fit your cell phone, wallet, minipump and 2-3 bars. I wear it, and forget I have it on, simply because it works.

In purchasing an expensive item, you expect the best. This is the best dual purpose bit of cycling kit for cooler rides yet. The fabric is extremely soft to touch - finer details are thought out and colours subdued nicely (If you can call 'Grey' a colour) The top performs extremely well as a long sleeve Jersey, but looks fantastic as a casual top as well. Please note that as this is primarily a cycling Jersey, and cut as so, the front is cut higher than a normal long sleeve top - so wear a belt...unless you like the look of wearing pants/jeans without a belt and advertising the fact to the world.
I have a 42 inch chest and am 6'1 -Bought size XL- this is perfect across the shoulders and the arm length is perfect. Will advertise if you have been eating more than required though.

Well made jacket good for below 45 f. Vents and base layers make this jacket very versatile. Has widened my winter riding range. Love it.
