Description

Description

Originally a limited edition model first introduced back in Autumn '14, the DZR Mechanic Shoe has now entered production proper, and we for one are mighty glad it’s now on general release.

Like the entirety of DZR’s urban cycling shoe line, the Mechanic sports clipless pedal compatibility, and comes shipped with allen key bolt cleat covers in case you don’t immediately want to attach your cleats and ride (cleats not included). A gum rubber sole mated to a double stitched upper bakes in durability from the get-go, whilst up top, a perforated synthetic leather toe cover sits alongside abrasion resistant nylon.

Details to love include the subtle camo interior and DZR tabbed tongue, but riding is where the Mechanic is at, and on the bike, the San Francisco brand’s engineering expertise is obvious - power goes down smooth and easy, but off the bike, the necessary sole flex to offset the potential for tired feet makes for a truly great bike to pavement transition.

I was genuinely surprised at how normal hear feel when walking and yet how effective they are on the bike. The only down side is that they do take longer to dry out after a downpour than regular cycling shoes, but that's to be expected as they are essentially a normal sneaker, so I'm not complaining; might get the H20 for winter though.
