Super lightweight, bright, and with a beam pattern which is optimised for road riding, the Strada 600 front light from Exposure is great for winter commuting or overnight ride events like the Dunwich Dynamo. It would also make a great light for longer day rides in winter when daylight hours are limited.
As with all Exposure Lights, the light is packed full of useful features to make it easy to use. The light’s display shows information on program, mode, burntime countdown and battery power whilst the optimised mode selector makes it easy to choose the best settings for your ride. An optional remote switch can be fitted which enables you to control the light without moving your hand from the bars, a feature which could be particularly useful when riding along busy or bumpy roads. As well as its wide, flat road-specific beam for riding at night time, the Strada 600 also has a ‘DayBright’ pulsing mode for enhancing your visibility during the day, which is visible even in bright sunlight from over a kilometre away.
The light’s CNC aluminium casing gives it an assured, robust feel whilst the aluminium bracket provides a sturdy fixing point on the bars; its quick release mechanism means you can easily remove the light for security or charging purposes. Despite feeling a lot more hardy than many of its competitors the Strada 600 weighs just 135g. The light is cable free and charges via a micro USB cable - on full blast you’ll get 3 hours from one charge, on the lowest setting you’ll get up to 36 hours. For most riders using somewhere between the two extremes, you’ll probably only need a weekly or twice-weekly charge for daily commuting, depending on the length of your commute.
As with the majority of Exposure’s lights, the light also uses ‘Intelligent Thermal Management’, a patented technology which prevents overheating (something high power lights can be at risk of) to keep the light working at its optimum.
