For those of you who get excited by kit that combines sexiness with uber-functionality, may we introduce you to Full Windsor’s The Breaker multi-tool! Since Full Windsor first released The Nutter multi-tool in 2014, they have offered a challenge to the conventional multi-tool market, reinventing the multi-tool experience for riders with tools that are lighter weight, more robust and more user friendly than traditional multi-tools.
Full Windsor have taken this one step further with The Breaker, which includes a workshop-functionality chain breaker. If you ever find yourself in the unlucky position of having to fix a broken chain whilst out riding, the last thing you want to add to your woes is the frustration of working with a fiddly compromise of a chain tool. Luckily, The Breaker provides a chain splitter tool which is akin to a dedicated workshop chain tool, with a tool grade stainless steel pin and sturdy ‘handle’ formed from the tool bit extender.
The Breaker also has everything you might need for other roadside repairs and small adjustments, including a tyre lever, spoke key, screwdriver and all the main hex keys you might need as well as a T25 torx bit. A magnetic tool bit slot allows you to use The Breaker like a screwdriver. The Breaker weighs in at a mere 110g, substantially lighter than many other multi-tools with a similar number of features, and as with any other self-respecting ‘trendy’ cycling tool, comes with a bottle opener to boot.
The Breaker is incredibly well-packaged in a gorgeous pouch made of leather and recycled inner tube - and if you’re a fan of good tool organisation, you’ll really like its internals! The pouch can be strapped to a saddle, or its straps can be used to house a spare tube and mini pump, creating a single ride repair package. All in all an excellent bit of kit which is a joy to both to behold and, more importantly, to use.
