The Giro E70 Knit Shoe uses a unique upper material to create a level of comfort and breathability unachievable with traditional cycling shoe fabrication. The Xnetic Knit upper is similar to fabrics seen regularly in running, football or other athletic footwear, used for its enhanced breathability and enduring comfort. Giro have adapted the Empire silhouette to use the knitted upper, wrapping it around a TPU skeletal system to provide rigidity and support where needed. The sock-like fabric has been treated with a DWR finish to ensure easy care and cleaning, while reinforcement at the toe and heel provide protection from scuffs and scratches.
A carbon E70 sole is made by Easton Carbon and is a flat piece outsole. This style has been a stalwart of Giro’s carbon road shoes, favoured by many for not wrapping around the foot. The lace up closure from the Empire series remains as do interchangeable heel pads.
