Lightweight, sleek looking, durable and practical, the Moto Classic Urban Pedals are a great option for urban riders looking for a new set of pedals for their bike. Moto spent four years on the design of their pedals, working to completely reinvent the pedal for urban riding, and as a result the pedals have several unique (and we think really well thought through) features.
A key thing which makes the pedals particularly suitable for urban riding is their large, slip resistant contact area which features a layer of griptape (more typically found on the top of skateboards) which prevents your feet from slipping off the pedals, even if you are wearing smart shoes or riding in the wet. Any rider who has had a painful or scary experience losing their footing on the bike in traffic (or damaging a pair of leather soled shoes on their bike pedals!) will know what a great idea this is.
The other main thing which makes the pedals well suited for urban riding is their smooth, ergonomic shape and lack of spikes or pins, further ensuring you will not be injured by your pedals whilst riding (and also giving the pedals their really nice sleek appearance). The pedals are constructed to be lightweight and durable, with a patent pending ‘sandwich construction’ based on cutting edge engineering expertise and techniques more commonly used in the aerospace industry as well as in high performance sports equipment.
The wooden version of the pedals is admittedly quite pricey, however the pedals are designed with durability and serviceability in mind, and so should serve you well. And wooden pedals are a pretty unique and eye catching addition to the bike it has to be said!
